Facilities

With three manufacturing locations with easy interstate highway access, Acutec is ideally situated to handle customer JIT programs and complete product requirements.

Acutec's main facility in Saegertown, Pennsylvania, built in 1996 and expanded 4 times since then, is climate controlled, has 68,000 square feet and includes 58 CNC large and multi-axis turning, machining, grinding and EDM machines, NDT inspection, passivation, light assembly, and a precision TIG welding cell. This facility, just south of Erie, is directly off an I-79 exit and within 4 hours by interstate of New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan manufacturing areas.

Acutec's auxiliary facility in Meadville, Pennsylvania is 33,000 square feet and was leased and renovated in January 2007. It houses all of Acutec North's small turning and includes 34 CNC turning machines. Just 10 minutes from the main facility in Saegertown, its production is seamlessly integrated into the main facilities production, engineering and customer service.

Acutec's facility in St. Stephen, South Carolina, built in 2001, is 18,000 square feet, climate controlled, with 14 CNC turning and machining centers, a precision TIG welding cell and an EDM partner in-house. Just off highway 52 outside of Charleston, this facility has easy interstate highway access to the North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida manufacturing areas.

All facilities feature an open architecture manufacturing floor, allowing for easy equipment movement and manufacturing cell arrangements.

Precision Machining

Acutec employs an experienced team of machinists at its South Carolina facility. All equipment is in an open architecture layout, with electrical, DNC and air-lines dropping down. This allows Acutec to easily move its equipment and adjust to the changing customer requirements. Acutec at present has three CNC Vertical Machining Centers with 4th axis capability, and nine CNC Turning Centers. The facility has considerable room for expansion. The production planning, customer service and material purchasing functions are closely tied to Acutec's Saegertown facility.

Precision Welding

The precision welding department works closely with the machining capabilities, often on a JIT basis. The welding department is in a separate area from the machining areas, and the entire facility is temperature controlled. The capabilities include two modern hand precision TIG welding stations. Acutec welds all stainless and exotic steels, such as inconel and Hastelloy, all certified to customer specifications. Acutec can weld from prototype quantities to high volume.

EDM

Acutec has developed a complete EDM department, with experienced operators and programmers on hand.

Acutec has 1 EDM CNC Sinker, and 2 EDM CNC hole poppers and 2 CNC EDM Wires.

EDM Equipment:

  • 2 Current EDM Drill CT300
  • Agiecur Classic 3S Gold Edition CNC Wire EDM
  • Mitsubishi FX10 CNC Wire EDM
  • Mitsubishi VX10 CNC RAM EDM w/tool changer
